What we make

Classic Kid Lit produces personalized children's audiobooks. You upload a short voice sample of a parent, grandparent, or other family member, and we deliver a complete, unabridged audiobook narrated in that person's voice — paired with vintage-style illustrations matched to the story.

Personalized audiobooks start at $25 and arrive as an MP3 within a few days of ordering. The same stories are also free to stream on our YouTube channel and as a podcast, narrated by a licensed AI voice — so families can listen for free first and decide whether a personalized version is right for them.

Why we exist

We make audiobooks for families separated by distance, deployment, illness, or loss:

• A parent who travels for work and wants their child to hear their voice at bedtime.
• A military service member preparing for deployment.
• A long-distance grandparent who wants to share a familiar tradition.
• A parent recovering from a condition affecting their voice.
• A family preserving the voice of someone whose recordings still exist, with that person's prior consent.

The voice clone is the entire reason this service exists. We are not a generic children's audiobook subscription, and there is no app, no Amazon storefront, and no third-party reseller.

Our catalog

Our catalog is built entirely from public-domain children's literature, so personalization and redistribution are legally clear. Every story below is available as a free YouTube and podcast audiobook today, and as a personalized recording in your chosen voice:

• The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi (1883), 36 chapters.
• Grimm's Fairy Tales by the Brothers Grimm, 60+ stories including Cinderella, Rapunzel, Hansel and Gretel, Rumpelstiltskin, Snow White, and Little Red Riding Hood.
• Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales including The Ugly Duckling, The Little Mermaid, Thumbelina, The Snow Queen, and The Emperor's New Clothes.
• Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll.
• The Oz series by L. Frank Baum (1900–1920), the full 14-book sequence rolling out month by month.

How a recording is made

You choose a story and submit a short voice sample (about two minutes of clean speech is ideal). We use ethically licensed AI voice-cloning technology with explicit consent from the voice provider — the person whose voice is being cloned must agree before we accept the order. The cloned voice narrates the full story, we assemble the audio with the matching illustrations, and you receive the finished MP3 within a few days.

We do not retain customer voice models longer than required to fulfill the order. We do not resell, license, or repurpose the voice clone for other customers.
